Eucharistic Procession Route Entering Topeka

The Eucharistic Procession in Topeka will begin at the St. Joseph Catholic Church (227 SW Van Buren St, Topeka, KS 66603). As the pilgrimage enters Topeka, you can join as a pilgrim walking with Jesus From St. Joseph's, passing by our local Catholic Charities, and stopping at Mater Dei (Assumption church - 204 SW 8th Ave, Topeka, KS 66603) next to the Capitol Building. This route will be approximately .8 miles in length.

Eucharistic Procession Route Leaving Topeka

The day will begin with Mass at Mater Dei (Assumption Church - 204 SW 8th Ave, Topeka, KS 66603) after which the Eucharistic pilgrimage resumes and goes to the historic Brown vs. Board of Education site (1515 SE Monroe St, Topeka, KS 66612) where it will conclude with Benediction as the pilgrimage heads to its next location. This leg of the pilgrimage will be approximately 1 mile in length.

How long is the procession route?

The procession from St. Joseph Church to Assumption Church is .8 mi
The procession from Assumption Church to Brown vs. Board of Education is 1 mi

Are rides available to get back to the start of the route?

There will be two busses available to take people back to the start of the route.

Will water or snacks be available on the procession route?

No, there will not be food or drinks provided.

Will restrooms be available along the procession route?

There will be limited restrooms available at St. Joseph Church and Assumption Church. The Brown vs. Board of Education site will be open to the public for visits and restroom use.

Is dinner available available on Wednesday evening after the procession?

No, but there are a lot of great local restaurants to try out.

What happens if it rains?

As long as the weather is not severe, we will still plan on having the processions even if it is raining. 

Will there be any shuttles available?
  • There will be some shuttle service back to St. Joseph Church from Assumption Church immediately following Benediction.
  • There will be some shuttles back to Assumption from Brown vs. Board of Education immediately following the closing.
