Music

There are many ways in our parish to praise God with joyful song:

  • MPHM Schola Cantorum: A music training program in the Cathedral tradition for the youth and adults of the parish, forming singers for the life long praise and worship of God. The Gentlemen and Children of the Choir sing for Sunday Mass at 11:30 on all but the second Sunday of the month during the choral year, while the Ladies and Gentlemen of the Choir sing for Sunday Mass at 9:30 a.m. on the 1st, 3rd and 5th Sundays of the month during the choral year. The choristers rehearse after school, while the adults rehearse on Thursday evenings.
  • Cantor: Vocalists who are trained to lead the congregation in song for Sunday Masses and special liturgies.
  • Organ/Keyboard: Trained organists and pianists who work with choirs and cantors to lead the congregation in song for Sunday Masses and special liturgies.
  • Folk Groups: Parish music groups that sing contemporary music for Sunday Masses and special liturgies.
  • Praise Ringers: Adult hand bell choir that plays for special feasts.
