Teacher Bio

Nancy Kennedy, a graduate of Washburn University, dreamed of teaching and spreading her Catholic faith from a very young age when she was inspired by her first grade teacher. She now has served 26 out of her 28 years teaching experience in the Catholic School system. Her start in the Catholic community was teaching Kindergarten for 20 years at Assumption Grade School. She went on to create the Pre-K program for Mater Dei as well. The most previous position Mrs. Kennedy held was Kindergarten teacher in the Seaman school district for the 2015-2016 school year. Mrs. Kennedy has been married to John Kennedy for 34 years. They have raised four daughters in their Catholic faith and in Catholic schooling. Mrs. Kennedy felt very fortunate to teacher each of her daughters in Kindergarten at Assumption School. John and Nancy now have six grandchildren that live in the Topeka area whom they enjoy spending time with, especially on their farm north of town. The Kennedy's look forward to watching their family grow in the Catholic faith for many years to come.
