Dear Parents,

I hope all of you had a beautiful, blessed Easter.  As we get back in the swing of things, I want you to know we are finished with assessments! :)  So now we can get back to a regular schedule.

We are working on Unit 29 in spelling this week. The test will be on Friday.  We are reading "My Brother's Flying Machine" this week. The test will be next week.  Math we are beginning to work on fractions.  Social Studies we are studying about the southwest; English we are working on unit 6 about pronouns; religion we are working on the fourth commandment and science we will be studying about different systems in the human body such as digestion, circulatory and the nervous system.

Next week, the 19th is Science Fair at Hayden High School.  I know the children have been working very hard on their projects.  I will not be able to attend school or the science fair since my mom is having surgery in Kansas City on Thursday and will need me on Friday.  So, I would like to ask if you could bring the experiment to school on MONDAY, APRIL 23rd for us to share our science experiments with each other.

Thank you for your understanding with this situation.

Also, next week is Book Fair!  Information is posted on the doors and the children have information about it with them.

Have a wonderful week.

God Bless all of you,

Mindie Diediker

Dear Parents,

It is Wednesday already.  We really enjoyed having our grandparents here on Friday.  They were able to see our State Fair Projects and visit with us.  It was WONDERFUL! The children did an amazing job with their state information.  Thank you for all your help and support.

We are skipping around in our math book and science book now getting ready for assessments.

We are on chapter 10 in religion; spelling test on Unit 22 will be Monday, Feb. 13. We will have a class party for Valentine's Day on Feb. 14 and we will make our card holders in the classroom.

Book Mobile is today.  We will go to Book Mobile again Feb. 22.

We have been practicing, practicing, practicing on multiplication facts.  Almost all of us are in division facts now or really close to being there.  On Thursday, we are going to have a math fact party for a little while in the afternoon.  However, just to keep us sharp through assessments, please keep practicing.

Mrs. Rohr and class celebrated my half birthday on Friday, January 27th.  We had some treats and I wanted to thank you for the gift cards, treats, games for the classroom and the ivy plant and card. It is very nice of all of you. We were so busy getting ready for Mass on the 29th and then for Grandparents on the Feb. 3 that I just wanted you to know how much it was appreciated.

God bless all of you!

Dear Parents,

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend!  Thank you for returning the blue folders.  It seems to working very well from my point of view.  I hope it is for you. The children get a treat on Monday for returning it.

We are working hard and now I think everything is scheduled!  Hooray! :)

There are no masses this week due to priest retreat.

We are on spelling unit # 7.  The words are getting tougher now, however, nothing like the homophones last week. :)

We begin a new unit in English this week.  Our story in reading is "Because of Winn Dixie" which the children usually enjoy.  It is about a little girl and a dog.  The book is good and this is just a taste of the book.  We have Social Studies with Ms. Martin this week.

Science is with me.  We are still on the rock cycle.  Math we are beginning chapter 3 this week.

There are no services with 501 on Monday or Tuesday this week due to inservices.

Thank you for all your support.  Have a wonderful week.  Enjoy the beautiful weather that God has blessed us with.

Sincerely,

Mindie Diediker
