History

The Most Pure Heart of Mary Schola Cantorum was founded in 2011 as a liturgical music program for young people, and in September 2013 combined with the parish adult choral program. Now in its seventh year of existence, the Schola Cantorum boasts more than 60 children and 20 adult musicians in three separate choirs. Each choir sings three or four times a month for the Sacred Liturgy as well as for concerts throughout the year. In the spring of 2013 the Schola Cantorum began an organist training program to compliment the choral training program.  In January 2016, the Children and Gentlemen of the Choir traveled to Rome at the invitation of the Vatican to sing with other children's choirs as well as the Sistine Chapel Choir for the papal Mass for the Solemnity of the Epiphany.
